The Beginning
Sherril was born and raised in Guilford County, North Carolina. She knew at a young age that she wanted to be an attorney, second grade to be exact. However, like many young people, she did not follow the path to achieve her dream straight through. Instead, she did things her own way, a way that took a little longer--but it worked for her.
After graduating high school, she attended the University of North Carolina (UNC). There she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science, with a minor in Sociology. Upon completing undergrad, she took a break from higher education to work in real estate and spend time with family. Three years after graduating from UNC, she decided it was finally time to go to law school. She successfully completed her Juris Doctor degree in 2.5 years. She then sat for and passed the South Carolina Bar Exam on her first attempt.
What Happened Next
Upon being admitted to the South Carolina Bar Association, Sherril went to work for the York County Public Defenders Office. She has always had a passion for helping others, which helped her excel. During her time there she gained tremendous knowledge and experience with the criminal law processes of South Carolina. After leaving York County Public Defenders Office, Sherril opened her own practice in Spring of 2018. While managing her law firm, she also worked as an Assistant Solicitor for the City of Rock Hill prosecuting cases in Municipal Court. As a former Assistant Public Defender and a former Assistant Solicitor for the City of Rock Hill, her experience encompasses both sides of criminal law, everything from negotiating pleas, to closing arguments in trial. She loves providing zealous representation for her clients, while also ensuring they understand the criminal law process.
Sherril has also handled numerous Personal Injury and Wrongful Death cases. During only her second year of representing clients in these practice areas, through her advocacy, she obtained over $400,000.00 in settlements for her clients. This amount is climbing every day, as she continues to fight for those who have been injured or lost their life because of someone else's negligence. To date, she has recovered more than $2 million dollars for her clients and counting. She is a firm believer that during these difficult times her clients should not have the additional burden of figuring out the process of receiving the compensation they are entitled to. She is eager to assist you with your injury or wrongful death matter as well!
